NWPCA's PDS© Design Service

NWPCA developed the Pallet Design System (PDS©) software to enable wooden pallet manufacturers and recyclers to assist their Customers in the design and evaluation of effective shipping platforms. Pallet manufacturers are encouraged to license the PDS© software, which allows unlimited in-house use of PDS© by your company to assist your Customers.

Pallet Customers who desire a PDS© evaluation of their current pallet designs, or who are interested in developing new pallet specifications, are encouraged to work with an NWPCA member that is licensed to use PDS© to assist their Customers. For a list of PDS© licensed pallet manufacturers in your area, please visit our Find Pallets and Products section or contact NWPCA.

For companies that cannot or choose not to lease the software for their own in-house use, including pallet Customers, a PDS©- based pallet design service is also available from NWPCA.

How to access NWPCA’s Pallet Design Service

A phone call to NWPCA headquarters (703/519-6104) or an email to ttreadwell@palletcentral.com will put you in contact with qualified staff who will talk with you about your pallet design and analysis needs, and other details of the project. You will need to explain or provide information on your pallet and material handling requirements.

NWPCA will then use PDS© to assist you in creating a pallet specification to meet your requirements, or use PDS© to evaluate the performance of an existing specification.

You’ll receive a complete PDS© report, including a Pallet Specification Sheet, fully-dimensioned 2-D drawings, 3-D drawings, and results of the Structural analysis, Service Life analysis, and Physical Properties analysis. The PDS© report will be emailed to you in pdf format, allowing you to view and print it, as well as allowing you to email it to your customer. Alternatively, a hard copy can be mailed or faxed.
