Standards & Specifications
The purpose of the NWPCA Uniform Standards is to establish recognized minimum quality requirements for the principal types of wood packaging and to provide a basis for common understanding among manufacturers, repairers, distributors, and users of wood pallets and containers.
New ANSI MH1 Standard Available
The new 2016 version of the MH1 Standard, Pallet, Slip Sheets, & Other Bases for Unit Loads, is now available as a free download. NWPCA members and staff collaborated with representatives from academia, government, and the distribution packaging industry to review and update the existing 2005 version of the standard. Part 3 of the MH1 Standard is an adapted version of the NWPCA Uniform Standard for Wood Pallets. During consultation with customers, it may be useful to reference the MH1 Standard rather than the Uniform Standard because the MH1 Standard is accredited by ANSI, the American National Standards Institute. Click here to download the standard.
