about our presenters
Judd Johnson is editor of Hardwood Market Report. He joined the company in 1994 after spending the first 18 years of his career in the hardwood industry. While working in the industry, Mr. Johnson’s experience ranged from lumber inspection, to lumber
procurement and processing, to sales, and on to secondary manufacturing with furniture, dimension, and flooring manufacturers.
The Hardwood Market Report, the company’s flagship publication, is considered the authoritative report on North American hardwood pricing and markets.
A native Mississippian, Taylor Tankersley attended (and later graduated from) the University of Alabama, where he played baseball for the Crimson Tide. He was drafted by the Florida Marlins and began and 8-year professional career.
Taylor's career then turned to the lumber industry. He has been with East Coast Lumber for almost a decade where, in his role of Vice President of Sales he prides himself with growing his business by cultivating strong relationships with sawmills and customers. He sees the trends while helping to grow East Coast's network with suppliers and customers across the industry. Taylor and his wife, Lauren, live in North Carolina with their two young children.

Mark Barford serves as NWPCA Senior Director – Business Partnerships since 2016. A forester by
training, Mark came to NWPCA after retiring as CEO of the National
Hardwood Lumber Association following his leadership in several other
softwood and hardwood industry associations. He remains an advocate for
both the pallet industry, and the wood suppliers who serve it.
